Family Fun From The Inside...OUT!
A classic Adirondack climb!
Summit Elevation: 2,180 feet
Elevation Gain: 1,280 feet
Total Mileage: 2.4 miles
KID FRIENDLY: YES!! But do keep an eye on them as you near the summit, there are cliffs up there, there is actually some pretty spectacular rock and ice climbing found on this mountain. Plenty of safe space to move around and take in the view!
Poke-O-Moonshine, while not a high peak, does have one of the few remaining fire towers in the Adirondack region that you can actually climb. There is often a summit steward at the summit, to welcome you and tell you about the area.
Do not let the short distance fool you. This is a short hike but it is all ADIRONDACK business! Steep, rocky, and worth every step.

We completed that climb in about 2 hours, at the end of a day which started with climbing two high peaks!! It was a long, but rewarding, day.
